Results & Recommendations Presented to the Mayor and Monroe City Council
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 6:00pm, Stephanie Calabrese and Knoxie le Roux will present the Wish You Were Here community-centered experiential exhibit Results and Recommendations to Mayor John Howard and Monroe City Council. Join us at City Hall, 215 North Broad Street, Monroe, Georgia.
REIMAGINEOver the course of the exhibit, more than 176 visitors hand-wrote responses to three questions about Monroe's past, present, and future — producing a rare, unfiltered record of community voice. Respondents ranged from lifelong Monroe residents to visitors from across Georgia and beyond, includingan 8-year-old from South Africa who filled out multiple cards.
All 235 postcards have been fully transcribed and analyzed for themes, tone, and standout responses, were submitted to Monroe City Council as a direct expression of what this community values, loves, and hopes for. Each source postcard or individaul visitor expression can be seen below.
